2023 Ford Transit Connect Passenger Wagon Coolant

These signs can indicate depleted coolant, a leak, or another cooling-system concern. Do not open the system while it is hot or pressurized; checking it should be done when the vehicle is cold. A pressure test helps identify whether the issue is service condition or a leak requiring repair.

• Temperature gauge running higher than usual
• Sweet smell or a puddle under the front of the vehicle
• Rusty, cloudy, or low coolant in the reservoir

The refill uses the coolant type and concentration the manufacturer specifies for this vehicle. The pressure test helps separate coolant service from a leak that needs repair. Inspection should be performed with the system cold because coolant and components can remain dangerously hot and pressurized after driving.

• Drain and refill with manufacturer-specified coolant
• Cooling-system pressure test for leaks
• Inspection of hoses, cap, radiator, and water pump area

Coolant additives deplete over time even when the vehicle still runs and the fluid still looks normal. Coolant condition can also be tested during a service visit between scheduled points. If the level keeps dropping, the priority is an inspection for a leak rather than simply adding more coolant.

• Follow the manufacturer's maintenance schedule
• Test coolant condition during a service visit
• Inspect for leaks when the level repeatedly falls

Coolants are not interchangeable, so the refill should use the formulation and concentration specified for this vehicle. Colour alone does not establish whether a product is correct. The service team can evaluate the coolant and refill the system according to the manufacturer's requirements.

• Use the manufacturer-specified coolant type
• Do not treat coolant colours as interchangeable labels
• Confirm the correct refill during service

Coolant additives can deplete while the fluid continues to cool the engine. A recurring low level may indicate a leak rather than normal consumption. Never open the cooling system while it is hot or pressurized; have it checked cold by a service professional.

• Adding coolant does not renew depleted additives
• A repeatedly low level can indicate a leak
• Check the system only when it is cold
